From gentle beach breaks to stronger surf beyond the rocks, the Recreio coastline offers a different rhythm for every kind of beach day. Come for an early swim, stay for the waves, or simply follow the sand until sunset. Recreio is a real surf neighborhood. Pontal sits at the end of the long Recreio sand, wrapping into Macumba just beyond the rocks - both are local favorites for all levels. A short drive west takes you to Prainha, one of Rio's most beautiful coves. Water sport facilities are available on site for an extra charge.
A neighborhood worth walking
Step outside and discover a quieter side of Rio, where long beaches, leafy parks, local cafés and cultural stops are all within easy reach. Recreio is made for unhurried days, from morning walks beside the water to relaxed afternoons exploring the neighborhood. Recreio dos Bandeirantes sits at the western edge of Rio, where the beaches get quieter and the pace slows down. Between surf sessions you can dip into Chico Mendes Park, catch folk art at Casa do Pontal Museum, or wander to the closest padaria for fresh pão de queijo.

Practical info before you book
Check-in is available from 1:00 PM to 11:00 PM, with check-out between 10:30 AM and 11:00 AM. Guests should share their arrival time in advance, and photo identification with a credit card is required at check-in. A refundable cash damage deposit is collected on arrival, and the minimum check-in age is 18. The property offers air conditioning, free Wi-Fi in public areas, a shared kitchen and lounge, an outdoor pool, garden, terrace and barbecue facilities, together with daily housekeeping and luggage storage. Laundry service, water sports, walking and cycling tours, fitness classes, a personal trainer and selected wellness services may be available for an additional charge. Guests can also enjoy movie nights, board games, puzzles and indoor or outdoor play areas. Please note that parking, pets and cots are not available, while extra beds may be arranged on request for an additional charge. The team speaks English, Portuguese and Spanish.
